Infectious Disease Reporting Process

Letter to providers regarding infectious diseases from Andy Kingdom Director of Public Health

As part of the preparedness for the coming winter with the ongoing coronavirus pandemic and other infectious diseases, Public Health working with Families Information Service is writing to ask for your continued support. Furthermore, to aid our ability to understand the changing level of disease and respond quickly to protect the population we are asking you to notify us of communicable diseases, such are coronavirus, influenza and others; full list here.

The below link is a simple form which will enable us to capture information from you about the case, their contacts and risk assess the situation. Public Health and FISH working together where needed, will then be able to offer the advice and support to you and the family.

Reporting of Covid-19 Cases

Although we do recognise that the pandemic is not yet over, as legislation on reporting to Ofsted has been removed and with the changes from Friday,1 April 2022 we have taken the decision to cease the requirement of settings to report positive cases into FISH from Friday, 8 April 2022. This will allow us to report in data as usual to the weekly Local Authority Public Heath meeting next week.

Should settings require any support in respect of positive cases or they feel their setting has an outbreak then we will still be happy to provide support, advice and guidance.
