Young Live Well is a healthy lifestyle and weight loss programme for young people aged 11 - 18 years who are classed as overweight.

It is designed to help you make healthier changes in your lifestyle and encourages you to increase levels of activity and develop healthier eating habits. Live Well is not a 'diet'. It's about lifestyle changes that can be sustained once the programme has finished.

What Will I get from the Young Well Live Programme?

- Individuals will be required to attend one appointment a week for 16 weeks with a qualified personal instructor.
- You will be given a programme of exercise, designed specifically for your needs and abilities. This can include gym and water based activities.
-Support will be given to encourage you to make healthier food choices that are easily sustained.
-Motivated support will be given throughout the programme to enable you to keep focussed and reach your goals.
-You will be given free access during your 16 weeks to attend any other classes or activities at East riding Leisure Centres.
-You will also be given a free pass for a family member or friend who will support and motivate you throughout your time on Young Live Well.
-Once you have completed your 16 week programme you will be given a Crew Card membership for eight months. You will be expected to have one check up appontment per month.

What happens now?

Once we receive your referral, East Riding Leisure will contact you and book your in for your first appointment at any of East Riding Leisure Centres.

A referral can be made by a parent or guardian of the young person or their local GP practice, Youth & Family Support Worker or teacher. Any referrals made must be sent to the central leisure technicians, who will contact the parent/guardian of the young person to make the first appointment at their nearest ERYC Leisure Centre.

Please note: Young Live Well is not a clinical service, it is a complimentary service which does not replace specialist services such as GP's, dieticians and psychologists.
