Childcare Funding Myths
· Do I have to take my all my funding at just 1 provider?
You can split your funding over more than 1 provider but you can only use a maximum of 2 per day, both settings do not have to be term time, you can use a setting term time and a setting all year round, the claim must not exceed your entitlement.

· Do I have to use my funding term time only?
If your provider is open all year round and offers stretched funding, you can take your funding over more than 38 weeks of the year

· When can I claim my funding?
You can access the funding the term after your child turns 9 months, 2 years or 3 years old, you also need to have applied the term before you wish to start.

· Does the disadvantaged 2 year funding increase to 30 hours from September.
This remains at 15 funded hours for those who qualify.

· What happens if I am no longer eligible for the funding?
You will be given an extended period of time to allow the funding to continue, known as the grace period. This allows you to continue the funding and any circumstances to change, if at the end of this period you are still not eligible you will not be entitled to the funding.

· We have a parent/carer who qualifies for both the 2 year disadvantaged funding and the working parent entitlement can they use both?
Parent/carers who qualify for the disadvantaged 2 year funded 15 hours and working parent entitlement can access both streams of funding simultaneously. However, to a max of 30 hours (they can only use an additional 15 hours and not 30 hours from the working parent entitlement if they already access the 15 disadvantaged).

· Will I still get funding for my 3 / 4 year old, if I am not entitled to the working families entitlement?
All children aged 3 and 4 years old are entitled to 15 hours of funding no matter what their circumstances
